Baeza qué ver en un día

Pilar-Bernal-Maya

Baeza is World Heritage by Unesco since July 3, 2003, as well as the neighboring city Úbeda, which I have spoken to on this blog: what to see in Úbeda in one day. So if you are thinking about visiting Baeza, I detail you some places that you can not ignore in this beautiful city. It will fall you in love. The nerve center show the beginning of a route marked by the Renaissance, it is the Plaza de Santa Maria. An environment in which the majestic Cathedral and Fountain of Santa Maria are protagonists. The seminary San Felipe Neri, next to the annex palace of Jabalquinto, is the Antonio Machado headquarters of the International University of Andalusia. In front of the main entrance to the UNIA is the Church of Santa Cruz, of the few Romanesque temples in Andalusia that is in good condition. At the end of the Paseo de la Constitución, we arrive at Plaza del Pópulo and its Fountain of Lions, the Old Carnicería which now houses the Courts, the Civil Court and Public Notaries where we find the Puerta de Úbeda, which is the best fortified entrance of the walled enclosure of the city. Our walk is coming to an end but first you have to travel to the past walking the Walls, from where we greet a landscape of olive groves that inhabit the mountainous area that surrounds the municipality. A real pleasure for the senses.
