Flamenco Fashion Trends SIMOF

Patricia-Bazarot-desfiles-moda-flamenca-SIMOF

Countdown to celebrate the Feria de Sevilla, time to talk about trends in flamenco fashion that we've seen in SIMOF 2017 and soon will stroll through The Royal of the Feria (by the way are you coming to Seville?). And all this in a year in which flamenco is fashionable and if you have some doubts keep an eye on the collections of Dolce & Gabbana, Proenza Schouler, Miu-Miu or Givenchy for this season.

7 essential trends in flamenco fashion

  1. This year we will see belts with the blouses and skirts.
  2. Flowers and polka dots are mixed, either in the same pattern or in different fabrics.
  3. Transparencies in the neckline, sleeves, back or sides of the suit.
  4. Neckline better on the back and off the shoulders tops is a must.
  5. Sleeves without ruffles or with excess of them. We will even see blouses that we could wear with another street outfit (non-flamenco) with sleeves finished in fist. To wear with Flemish skirts, the white t-shirts with modern motifs and messages ( the trend this spring / summer) are another option.
  6. Figure tight or loose, to choose. The first option stylizes more but the second one is very comfortable.
  7. The ruffles are small, large, extra large and curly (I can not imagine them in a caseta where 100 people fit and 300 people enter); Horizontal, vertical, skewed ... As you wish!
What else can I say? I love this trend (it is part of my culture) that is synonymous of joy and desire to live so I will also put red lips, flowers in my hair and dress flamenco style and I'll go to the Seville Feria de Abril. See you on my social networks!

Photos that illustrate this post are from fashion show of this year at the SIMOF (International Salon of Flamenco Fashion). The designs are Patricia Bazarot, Pilar Vera and Pedro Bejar.

  6. Figura ceñida o suelta, a escoger.
