7 free things to do in NYC

Blog-viajes-New-York

I have a lot of stuff about New York City to share in my lifestyle blog. Today we're going to talk about 7 free things to do in NYC, so save your dollars and enjoy! We start with the Staten Ferry Island. A trip from South Manhattan, on Battery Park to Staten Island Pier. An 8-kilometer ride in each 25-minute drive will give you a good view of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island on the way to and The Lower Manhattan skyline on the return trip. And we go on...

Y seguimos...

2.-To the east of Manhattan and west to Queens, there is a tiny island called Roosevelt. The interest of the ride is not other than the Roosevelt Island Tram that provide an excellent skyline view of NYC. The ride costs the same as a ride on the subway but because you'll surely have got the MetroCard, you'll pay nothing. Each ride lasts just 5 minutes. Do you remember the Spiderman movie scene in which the Green Goblin throws Mary Jane Watson off the Queensboro Bridge, and SpiderMan must choose between saving her or passengers on the tramway? It was shot there! The Manhattan Roosevelt Island Tram Station is located on 2nd Ave. between 59th and 60th St.

3.- Walk through movie sets, such as the Hook & Ladder in the Tribeca neighborhood. The fire station that hosted the team of Ghostbusters. There are many other places super interesting to visit and free!, witnesses of series and movies, which I will tell you in a next post.

4.- Do not miss the shop windows of New York, especially those of Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy's. They are true artworks that do not give way to improvisation. You will want to see again and again, especially if you love fashion!

5.- The churches and cathedrals of New York are a free experience. When you walk into them you are transported in time. In the midst of so much skyscrapers its gothic buildings still gather pieces of the history of this city. Those of St Paul, Grace (in the photo), Saint Patrick or Trinity are some of the most essential. In an upcoming post I will tell in detail the stories they gather. They are magic!

MOMA-New-York

6.- Free NYC Museums. There are a list of them: Metropolitan Museum of Art, American Museum of Natural History, Museum of Modern Art -MoMA- (in the picture. Free entrance fridays 4 to 8pm), The Hispanic Society of America...

7.- Dyker Heights in Brooklyn. The neighborhood famous for their Christmas Lights. That's the date we went (intentionally by the way) When it gets dark, take the M or D subway line (towards Coney Island), get off at 79th St., head for 82nd Street and turn right toward 13 avenue. In the quadrant between the avenues 13 and 11 and between the streets 86 and 83 you will find a show of lights and sound free of mind. I have not seen anything like it in my life. You're going to hallucinate!

No he visto nada igual en mi vida. ¡Vas a alucinar!
