Best hiking shoes for travelling

cosas-que-ver-costa-portugal

Let's go to a place with a lot of history, with my best hiking shoes for travelling. We are in the Fortress of Peniche built between 1557 and 1645, sited at the south of the Peniche peninsula, on some cliffs. It has had many uses, its chronology reflects multiple episodes of the history of Portugal, but probably what more trace left in the city is the one that housed a military prison. At the moment it is Regional Museum, Nautical School... all the place is National Monument. Between its walls are fragments of very cruel episodes that still squeak in the soul of the visitors. The visit is free (except fee to the museum that costs € 1.50) and the views from the fort are spectacular.

What to wear to visit the fortress?

I decided to wear this casual look with hiking shoes and chandal, scarf and wool cap (it is freezing there!). A fashionable and huge bag (enough to carry water bottle, gloves, sun protection, mobile, camera ...) is perfect to replace the backpack! The visit to the Fortress requires a comfortable footwear that allows you to climb, jump, without slipping because the ground is wet due to the close to the sea it is and by the effect of air.

Scarf, cap Mango

In another post I'll show you what else I took in my suitcase to visit other places on the coast of Peniche. You will see how things change ...

🔼🔽🔼🔽🔼🔽🔼🔽🔼🔽
